Reaching far-flung areas in times of disasters has always been a challenge for the Philippine Red Cross. The need for manpower and the capacity to deliver help to the affected in the fastest, most efficient way possible has been a pivotal reason for the formation of the Red Cross 143. Through our Red Cross 143 volunteers, the organization carries out its projects and operations whilst establishing a culture of self-help in communities.
MVR 5’s Sponsor A Runner initiative holds the same principle. Many, while having more than the desire to be part of the cause, cannot be present – may it be due to distance, schedule conflict, health reasons, or whatever else.
By sponsoring a runner or a group of runners, anyone who can’t be with us on the day of the event can still do their part in helping disaster-stricken communities.
